It’s going to be a crazy first day at VMworld looking at my calendar and I got up early to be ready for it. There will be the customary announcements by the VMware CEO today in his keynote so looking forward to hearing what’s coming up.
I would guess there should be some great news about lifting of limits on some VMware product functionality (since the convention is about No Limits), news on VVOL enhancement, geographic replication enhancements, and vCloud Air. But let’s watch what comes out and lap it up as virtualization professionals.
My first meeting of the day is with the CTO of EMC RecoverPoint & vPlex – Assaf Natanzon for a video conversation on what’s new.
It will be followed up with sessions –
- STO2197 – Storage DRS (deep dive and best practices)
- STO2554 – How VVOLs will provide shared storage with X-ray vision
- INF1420 – Extreme Performance Series to understand Virtualized Memory Management
- INF3014 – Scripting and Programming Cloud Automation
I also need to go up to the Solutions Pavilion and talk to a few vendors at their booths – possibly see some demos as well.
The day will end up with a couple of reception parties so I look forward to enjoying VMworld today. Look out for my blog posts on the sessions and the tweets as well.
